After our safety briefing that featured animated northern lights above the lifeboats (if I'm boarding a lifeboat, will I remember to look up?) the crew welcomed us with a Christmas buffet feast of crab, crayfish, mussels, herring, and salmon. Around midnight we caught a brief glimpse of the northern lights and minutes later it started snowing. A merry Christmas all around!

I'm so glad you've already seen some lights so you can relax and enjoy everything else, too. Your accommodations look cozy-are you all in one room? And happy birthday because by the time you read this, it will be!
ReplyDeleteWait a minute -- you have to ride on a boat to see the Northern Lights?!? This is making me nervous. In case it isn't obvious, seeing the Northern Lights is NOT on my bucket list. Keep up the good travelblog and happy happy Cupcake birthday!
