Still jet-lagged and up early, we headed to the Golden Gate to try to catch a tour bus to Krka National Park, about an hour north of Split. Sure enough we squeezed in at the last minute with Borat as our guide. He told us to call him Ted, most likely because his real name started with a T, followed by a string of consonants and no vowels like most of the Croatian language.
Krka National Park is famous for the travertine terraces along the Krka River that form waterfalls. Ted did his best to keep us together saying, "Follow your guide — that is me" repeatedly as we made our way through the summer crowds and over the "selfie bridge." (For those heading to Croatia, I'd recommend Plitvice over Krka and an earlier time of year.) First photo is the postcard shot, second is the reality.
With that long selfie stick Arlo has a real advantage in crowds! (Plus you can always spot him!)
ReplyDeleteIs that Ted with the backpack, sun hat, and umbrella? He seems the most prepared person in the crowd. I’d trust him.
ReplyDeleteThat’s Arlo with his 360 degree camera! He’s the one taking the wild shots like the one in the plane.
DeleteRemember the “amazing race” episode in which they rode the donkeys? I think that was on split.
