Location scouting

Not only did we unknowingly time our visit during the Vienna Film Festival, a free outdoor event with a stunning location, but we also learned upon arriving that our hotel was the birthplace of movie composer Max Steiner. Now the hotel bar is dedicated to him. I neglected to look at the drink menu but they better have Gone With the Gin. A short walk away is the 1897 Prater ferris wheel made famous in the 1949 British film noir The Third Man and still circling above the city with its original cars.
