Many ways down a mountain

Ric and Steffi recently completed paragliding training and like to jump off mountains whenever they get a free day. Today we headed to a mountain near crazy King Ludwig's castles to see who was crazier: Ric or King Ludwig.

Ric, Steffi, Laura, Arlo & I took the chair lift up the mountain under sunny skies. In moments the sky turned dark and the wind gusted so hard that we had to take cover in the mountain hut and drink coffee until the chair lift started again. I mentioned a bobsled ride that Ann Wright had told me about back in January. Ric said, "Ahh! Good idea! There is one here!"  We were flying down the mountain in bobsleds instead of paragliders moments later. Awesome fun! 

Then instead of a tour with busloads of tourists at Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles we took a hike around the lake with views up at the castles. By the time we had circled the lake the wind had blown itself out and Ric high-tailed it back to the mountain for a solo flight and perfect landing. What a great first day in the Alps!
