As we came around the bend we caught sight of a bronze eagle monument (built in 1912) to Theodor Christomannos who had a passion for mountaineering and dedicated himself to alpine tourism. Such a perfect setting for the sculpture and so fitting that it perches for hikers to find.
So that's where the Maltese Falcon has been all these years!
